Beretta P. G.V.T. Italy AS20eell

The Beretta AS over and under differs from the SO series because it has no sidelocks and the mechanics are on the triggers’ plate.

The design of the frame, the cocking system with rods, the trapezoidal visible lumps, the E. Green closure and the ejectors with their spiral springs remain the same.

Makes me wonder thether the simplicity of the trigger plate action scores higher than the relative complexity of the sidelock SO. And to go a step further in the simplicity theme: if the coil sprung 680 series action with the internal spring guides and the mild rebound feature is not an improvement on the AS V spring mechanism. I am not discounting the value of the AS, it is more that I see it as one of many steps in the history of the Beretta over under.

Great site you have, one of the best for the student of the smotthbore.
